The records document the activities of the Advisory Committee on Compulsive Gambling Treatment Program, created to advise the department on the program's administration; the initial contract with the Minnesota Council on Compulsive Gambling to operate the program; and operation of a gambling hotline, legislation, public education, public relations, training for service providers, outpatient treatment, and research, particularly in association with the University of Minnesota's School of Public Health and the Center for Addiction Studies at the University's Duluth campus. Included are correspondence, minutes, reports, reviews, contracts, proposals, legislation, requests for proposals, and working papers.
